I believe it is essential to the patient’s overall well-being that IV fluids be as close to body temperature as possible. The human body must maintain a constant temperature and chemical balance in order to work properly and efficiently. When EMS infuses fluids, it is due to a lack of normal fluids, so it makes sense that the fluid we are infusing should be as close to what the body lost as possible.
