Hypothermia Info: The need for a fluid warmer.  Blanket warming is not enough.

Hypothermia is often the result of a trauma condition.  Many times, the caregiver infuses cold IV fluid into the patient at an accident scene, during evacuation, or during surgery.  Because this fluid is ambient temperature, which is much lower than the proper core body temperature, the patient suffers a decrease in temperature, leading to hypothermia.
