include:
Patient Comfort:
Some specialty healthcare providers are very concerned with
patient comfort. Many patients in these types of facilities would appreciate the comfort of warmed
fluids. Dentists and plastic surgeons are particularly interested in such patient comfort. The Thermal Angel is the first fluid warmer
that meets the needs of these caregivers.
Warming in the Field:
Some caregivers are delivering IV fluids in a home infusion settings. In the past, traveling
nurses had no way of warming fluids in field. With the Thermal Angel, the caregiver can now travel with a portable warming solution.
For IV solutions and medications that are stored in a cool environment, the Thermal Angel can make quite a
difference. Instead of inducing a cold fluid into the patient, the caregiver can offer a warm infusion
provided with the Thermal Angel. Some patients with difficulty regulating their own body temperature,
especially the elderly, can enjoy the benefits of warmed fluids.
Portability:
Because the Thermal Angel is battery powered, there is no need for the caregiver to secure AC power. This
flexibility opens up possibilities for the caregiver to provide warmed fluids in areas that have never been
serviced by conventional AC powered equipment. For example, a dentist could have a traveling Thermal
Angel kit that moves between patient rooms. The same hold true for a cosmetic surgeon in an outpatient
setting.
Thermal Angel Features Include:
- Lightweight (9 ounces) and portable
- Quick setup within 30 seconds, warms in approximately 45
seconds
- Standard luer fittings that will accept all standard IV line
sets
- Disposable (single patient use), no cartridges or cleaning
- More...
Quick Set Up:
Because the Thermal Angel is elegantly simple, there are no knobs,
settings or switches. An experienced user can set up the Thermal Angel in a matter of seconds. The U.S. Army Ranger Medics are trained
to set up and use the Thermal Angel in complete darkness in less than one minute in battlefield conditions. No
other fluid warmer in the world can meet these stringent battlefield military specifications.
Quick Training:
Because the logistics of training personnel are so challenging, the
Thermal Angel was designed to require minimal training. The 5 Steps are printed on the Thermal Angel label, bag, and instruction insert. Furthermore, there is an instructional video available on the Thermal Angel website which can be viewed in less than 3
minutes. By providing multiple avenues for training, the end user chooses the approach most appropriate for
them and their time schedule. Most facilities train themselves on the Thermal Angel and do not require an
in-house training session.
Low Capital Equipment Expenditures and No Contract Requirements:
The Thermal Angel was designed to require a minimal capital
expenditure with no commitments from the provider in order to encourage warming for all patients, not just a
select few cases. It's very easy to set up a trial, so just give us a call. You can have a Thermal Angel in your hands within days. We know
you and your co-workers will love it.
Help Prevent Hypothermia in Non-Trauma Patients:
The effects of hypothermia on patients whose injuries are not
severe, or in minor surgeries is not as life threatening. A group at St. Joseph Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas
studied the need for maintaining normal body temperature during laparoscopic surgery. They list several
risk factors for patients in "intra-operative" hypothermia (hypothermia occurring during surgery).
Those risk factors include:
1. cool ambient operating room temperatures
2. prolonged surgical procedures
3. exposure of abdominal and thoracic cavities
4. age, with both elderly and infants being at greatest risk
5. infusion of room-temperature IV fluids during surgery
